New to macrame?

Where to begin when you want to learn macramé: three steps from your first knot to your first wall hanging.

Macramé is the art of tying cords into knots to make something both beautiful and useful: a bracelet, a plant hanger, a wall hanging. You don't need special tools. A few metres of cord, a pair of scissors and your hands are enough to begin.

The easiest way to learn is step by step. Start with a handful of basic knots, practise them on small, quick projects, and move on to bigger pieces once the knots feel easy. Every pattern on Macrame School comes with a free step-by-step video, so you can pause, rewind and knot along at your own pace.
